I’ve read “The Scar Boys” from Edelweiss. I am just trying to review it but it is difficult for me. So many emotions, so many good things to say. It is an amazing book, so I’m just writing you to congratulate.

Thank you Len for this amazing coming of age story that made me cry, laugh and dream of a better life for me.

  3. Debbi Burton says:

The Scar Boys was everything I appreciate about good young adult lit. All high school librarians ought to buy this book for their collection. Sad to see you are not coming near Idaho on the tour. Wonder if I could make it to Santa Cruz by Wednesday. PLEASE keep writing… this was quite terrific.

    • Len Vlahos says:

Thanks Debbi! I did in fact accept an offer from my publisher to write the continuation of The Scar Boys’ story. It will be told from Cheyenne’s point of view. I’m also happy to try to find time to do a Skype or Google Hangout event with your students if you think it’s something they would enjoy.

  4. Santa Cruz High School is very excited to welcome you next week!

  6. Clearly, you need to swing by The Twig and visit some schools on your way to or from Houston. Texas Librarians gather here in April the same week as ABA’s Children’s Literature Institute, too. Mi casa es su casa.

    • Len Vlahos says:

Thanks Claudia! I love San Antonio and love The Twig. Let me see how the Houston schedule comes together and see if we can’t figure it out. Hope to see you in Seattle!

  7. Ellen Scott says:

Len– We’d love to have you here in Omaha as well! Perhaps there’s an Iowa/Nebraska tour in your future? Have fun with all the events in the next couple of months!!

    • Len Vlahos says:

Thanks Ellen! I really want to figure out how to get to your part of the country. Would love to get to Iowa City, Osakloosa, Des Moinse, and Omaha. Let me talk to my publisher and see if we can figure something out. (And I have to be careful not to push my luck with my day job!)

Hope to see you in Seattle…

  8. Jake The Girl says:

Just read a readers copy of Scar Boys because my mom’s friend works at a bookshop, and they needed a teenage reader to recommend books. Most incredible thing I’ve read in a long time. Will definitely be at the NY event

    • Len Vlahos says:

Thank you SO MUCH Jake The Girl! Look forward to seeing you at the event.. Make sure to come up and introduce yourself.

  9. Len Vlahos says:

Me, too, Nancy. Maybe I can get there in the spring or summer if anyone still wants me by then!

  10. Nancy Simpson-Brice says:

    Len, looks fabulous.
Wish Book Vault was on it also.
